Later, enjoy a traditional Shikara ride through the lake’s calm waters, gliding past floating gardens and wooden bridges. As the sun sets over the lake, the reflections of the surrounding mountains create a picture-perfect scene. Overnight stay in Srinagar.

Day 03

Srinagar Sightseeing

Spend the day exploring Srinagar’s Mughal gardens — Shalimar Bagh, Nishat Bagh, and Chashme Shahi — each designed with terraces, fountains, and panoramic mountain views. Visit the historic Jamia Masjid and the old city’s bustling markets filled with handicrafts, pashminas, and saffron.

In the afternoon, drive to the Shankaracharya Temple atop a hill for sweeping views of Srinagar city and Dal Lake shimmering below. Return to your houseboat for dinner. Overnight stay in Srinagar.

Day 04

Srinagar to Gulmarg

After breakfast, drive through pine forests and meadows to Gulmarg, the “Meadow of Flowers.” This beautiful valley, set at an altitude of 2,650 meters, transforms into a winter wonderland during the snow season and an alpine paradise in summer.

Enjoy a cable car ride on the famous Gulmarg Gondola, one of the world’s highest, for views stretching to Nanga Parbat. Optional activities include pony rides or nature walks through wildflower-strewn slopes. Overnight stay in Gulmarg.

Day 05

Gulmarg to Kargil

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive towards Kargil. The journey passes through Sonmarg — “Meadow of Gold” — and then ascends the spectacular Zoji La Pass (3,528 m) before entering the stark yet mesmerizing landscapes of Ladakh.

Descend through Drass, the second coldest inhabited region on earth, and reach Kargil by evening. Check into your hotel and unwind after the mountain drive. Overnight stay in Kargil.

Day 06

Kargil to Lamayuru to Uleytokpo

Leave Kargil after breakfast and drive east along the Suru River Valley. Stop at the ancient Mulbekh Monastery, famous for its giant rock-carved Buddha statue. Continue to Lamayuru, home to one of Ladakh’s oldest monasteries and the surreal “Moonland” terrain.

After exploring the monastery and its prayer halls, drive onward to Uleytokpo — a peaceful riverside village near Alchi. Check into your eco-lodge surrounded by mountains and apricot orchards. Overnight stay in Uleytokpo.

Day 07

Uleytokpo Sightseeing

Spend the morning visiting Alchi Monastery, renowned for its Indo-Tibetan murals and ancient woodwork. Continue to Likir Monastery, where giant golden Buddha statues rise against deep-blue skies.

Return to Uleytokpo by afternoon and enjoy time at leisure by the Indus River. Optional activities include short hikes or interaction with local villagers. Overnight stay in Uleytokpo.

Day 08

Uleytokpo to Leh

After breakfast, drive to Leh, the heart of Ladakh. The route follows the Indus River through dramatic valleys and cliffs, with stops at the Magnetic Hill and the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar rivers.

Arrive in Leh and check in at your hotel. Spend the evening strolling around Leh Market or visiting Shanti Stupa for sunset views over the town. Overnight stay in Leh.

Day 09

Leh to Pangong Lake

Start early for a full-day excursion to Pangong Lake via Chang La Pass (5,360 m). The winding ascent and descent reveal endless mountain panoramas before the lake’s turquoise expanse comes into view — one of the most photographed sights in India.

Enjoy lunch by the lakeside and time to walk along the shimmering shore. Return to your lakeside camp for a peaceful evening under a canopy of stars. Overnight stay at Pangong.

Day 010

Pangong Lake to Thiksey to Leh

After breakfast, drive back to Leh, stopping en route at Thiksey Monastery — a hilltop complex often compared to Tibet’s Potala Palace. Explore its prayer halls and the impressive Maitreya Buddha statue.

Later, visit Shey Palace, once the summer residence of Ladakh’s royal family. Continue to Leh for a relaxed evening with dinner and rest. Overnight stay in Leh.

Day 011

Begin your day at Hemis Monastery, Ladakh’s largest and wealthiest monastic institution, known for its colorful frescoes and peaceful courtyards. Return to Leh for lunch, then visit the Leh Palace and local markets for souvenirs, handicrafts, and prayer flags.

Evening at leisure for photography or a casual stroll through old Leh lanes. Overnight stay in Leh.
